To expose or not to expose? The integrative therapist and posttraumatic stress disorder.

Many different treatments are currently available on the market for treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The American Psychological Association suggests that some of them have strong evidence, while others can only be suggested. In this introduction I argue that the picture is quite different, with different treatment modalities yielding similar outcomes, but doing so via different paths. I explain here the reasons for having selected some of these treatments for inclusion in this journal Special Issue. Integrative therapists may read the whole range to understand what would best suit each unique person presenting in their office with PTSD. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2019 APA, all rights reserved)
